UCLG-MEWA COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT IS BEING ESTABLISHED 2.09.2014

As MEWA countries, we are establishing "UCLG-MEWA Committee on Environment" as a result of the responsibilities imposed upon us by our mission  for the sake of localization of environmental policies, which is the common problem of humanity, and bringing it to the international standards.

Developing a common environmental awareness in MEWA countries and detection of problems related to the demonstration of a will regarding their solutions are important,  in terms of evaluation and development of Environmental Policies in MEWA countries.

As a result of the survey that was sent to the members of UCLG-MEWA, UCLG-MEWA will reveal duties and responsibilities of the Committee on Environment, on determination of sustainable environment policies of local governments in the UCLG-MEWA region, and realization of the determined policies in line with a common goal. Thus, deficiencies in environmental policies will be identified and Environment Committee will be able to perform the duties of monitoring and guiding for the elimination of deficiencies.
