The Local Dimension of the Alliance of Civilizations

This Working Group, that is chaired by Juan Ignacio Zoido, Mayor of Seville and President of Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), is created with these aims:

1. To promote and encourage the involvement of Local Governments in the Alliance of Civilizations Initiative and to facilitate the fulfillment of the commitments contained in the Memorandum of Understanding between the UCLG and the AC.
2. To articulate mechanisms that will enable the promotion of the values that inspire the Alliance of Civilizations, in defining and developing, through Local Governments, its public policies.
