Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments for Post 2015 and Habitat III 20.03.2013

Local and Regional Governments organizations met in Istanbul on 19-20 March 2013 in The Marmara Hotel for the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments for Post 2015 and Habitat III, whose goal is to represent the local governments all over the world. In fact, the meeting has been held to build a joint strategy to develop the position of local and regional governments in the upcoming international debates within the framework of the Post 2015, Rio+20 and towards Habitat III.
The Secretary General of UCLG-MEWA, Mehmet Duman, chaired the session “Top Issues for Partners” and he represented the president of UCLG and the mayor of Istanbul, Dr. Kadir Topbaş, by reading his speech.
After many exchanges, the participants aggreed on a communique, titled “Global Taskforce of Local & Regional Governments for Post 2015 and Habitat III“.
At the end of the meeting, Mehmet Duman expressed his gratefulness to the members and partners for their participation.
