Ülgür GÖKHAN

He was born in Çanakkale in 1 April 1950. He completed his primary education in Çanakkale; and secondary school and high school education in Galatasaray High School. He was graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Finance. He was elected the Member of Municipal Council in the 1989 and 1999 elections.

He was elected as the Mayor by the Municipal Assembly in 2002, when the existing Mayor resigned from his post to become an MP candidate.

He was elected as the mayor three times in the 2004, 2009 and 2014 local elections. Ülgür Gökhan, who is married with two children, speaks French and English.
