UCLG World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders in RABAT 2013 1.07.2013

On the 26th of April, we sent you an invitation to participate in the UCLG World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders in Rabat, Morocco, from the 1st to the 4th October.
 
This World Summit will be a crucial event for local and regional governments the world over as it will mark the centennial celebration of the international municipal movement built on the actions of elected representatives from all sizes of towns and regions.
 
Our Congress in Rabat will be an opportunity to exchange and launch the debate on the Agenda of Cities and Regions for post 2015 and for Habitat III in 2016.
 
As Mayor of Istanbul and President of UCLG, and as Mayor of Rabat and host of the 4th UCLG World Congress, we are pleased to invite you to participate in this Summit.
 
The theme of the Congress, “Imagine Society, Build Democracy”, will allow the aspirations of local and regional governments to be heard and will highlight their role in the reinforcement of local governance and their contribution to global governance. This theme will be divided into several sub-topics in which the action of local and regional governments is essential.
 
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to Rabat where you will have the chance to share your experiences and meet and exchange with elected representatives and regional managers as well as representatives from the international organizations and civil society.
