UCLG-MEWA PARTICIPATED IN EU POLICY FORUM 8.07.2014

Dr. İhsan İKİZER, UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator participated in the 1^st  Regional Meeting of the European Union Policy Forum on Development, held in Lima, capital of Peru, between 24-26 June 2014. 140 invitees from 11 Latin American countries participated in the meeting and the development policy of the EU was discussed in several workshops.  UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator participated in the meeting upon the invitation and support of the European Union, in his capacity as member of the Forum Task Team.

The forum, which was established in 2013, in order to contribute to the development policies of the European Union, contains approximately 100 persons, consisting of representatives of civil society organizations and local governments from all around the world. The EU provides development support at the amount of hundreds of millions of Euro each year, and discusses the quality and conditions  with the stakeholders.
