UCLG-MEWA OFFICIALS VISITED SETA 4.11.2014

Within the framework of UCLG-MEWA knowledge upgrade activities, Dr. Ihsan IKIZER, Coordinator General and Mr. Adrien LICHA, Projects Coordinator, visited the Foundation for Political, Economy and Social Researches (SETA). SETA is a well known non-profit research institute dedicated to innovative studies on national, regional, and international issues. The objective of SETA is to produce up-to-date and accurate knowledge and analyses in the fields of politics, economy and society and inform policy makers and the public on changing political, economic, social and cultural conditions.  

During this meeting Dr. IKIZER had the opportunity to introduce UCLG-MEWA activities to Mr. Faruk YASLIÇİMEN and Ms. Hicran ÇELİKYAY researchers in the Society and Culture department. They welcomed this presentation and they emphasized the importance their department gives to cities and culture. Thus they expressed their interest to be in closer relation with municipalities.

Following this first exchange it has been agreed to work on the organization of a common event on the theme of local governance or culture.
