UCLG Committee on Statutory Affairs Meeting (23 May 2011, Istanbul, Turkey) 27.04.2012

UCLG-MEWA has provided assistance to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in hosting the meeting of the UCLG Committee on Statutory Affairs, held in Istanbul on 23 May 2011. The main focus of the meeting of the UCLG Committee on Statutory Affairs was on evaluating the short list of candidates (prepared during the UCLG Committee on Statutory Affairs Technical Meeting held in Barcelona on 14 April 2011) for the position of the new UCLG Secretary General, and seeking to attain a consensus on a single suitable candidate to make a proposal to the UCLG World Executive Bureau for the finalization of the appointment of the UCLG Secretary General. During the meeting the short-listed candidates (5 persons) were interviewed, and subsequent to the deliberations, the targeted outcomes were attained towards making a pertinent proposal to the UCLG World Executive Bureau to be decided upon during its meeting scheduled to be held in Rabat, Morocco, on 22-24 June 2011.
