THIS YEAR’S LOCAL GOVERNMENT TALKS STARTED with PROFESSOR BOZDOGAN 16.10.2014

Professor Dr. Rafet Bozdogan, Head of Department of Transportation Engineering and Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University, made a speech on “Intra-city Transportation Systems and Importance of Planning” in Sultanahmet, headquarters of United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section on 10th September 2014.

Mr. Bozdogan, in the conference with vast audience, talked about Criteria of Intra-city Transportation on the example of IMM (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality). He remarked that the intra-city transportation is one of most important problems in today’s world.  Professor Bozdogan, after talking about the main problems on this field, “it’s crucial to have one authority in terms of transportation” he said. Main problem about infrastructure in the cities is city planning Bozdogan said and it’s fundamental to consider the future population of the city he added. Ultimately, Mehmet Duman, Secretary General of UCLG-MEWA presented a plaque to Professor Dr. Rafet Bozdogan. Following the talk, participants attended the reception.
