The Constitutive Assembly of the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) 27.04.2012
The Constitutive Assembly of the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) was held on 7 October 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting was held with the participation of over 30 representatives of founder members, local authorities and international organization. The meeting was opened with opening speeches recalling the background, the issues and the approach developed by FMDV, an innovative tool of technical assistance and financial engineering addressed to local authorities.
Following the speeches, Jordi Hereu, Mayor of Barcelona, was elected as the Chairman of The General Assembly. Under the Presidency of Jordi Hereu, the other elections were conducted in accordance with the Agenda.
Jean-Paul Huchon, President of Metropolis and Ile-de France has been unanimously elected as the president by the founder members. After the election of the president, Jose FORTUNATI, Mayor of Porto Alegre, has been unanimously elected as the treasurer of FMDV.
During the final section of the meeting, Alain Le Saux was elected unanimously as the Executive Director. Following the remarks of participants, the meeting was closed.
