Tahir AKYÜREK

Tahir Akyürek

Mayor of Konya, was born in 1959 in Derebucak District, Konya. He was graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law. He worked as a lawyer at the Provincial Directorate of Bağ-Kur (a national social security organization) in Konya; and as the Secretary General at Konya Chamber of Commerce. He served as an executive officer in various civil society organizations. Consequently, he worked as a freelance lawyer. Akyürek, who has been the Mayor of Konya since 2004, is married with 3 children.
