Southeast Anatolia Association of Municipalities (GABB) met in Diyarbakır 7.10.2013

Dr. İhsan İkizer, General Coordinator of UCLG-MEWA, was invited to Diyarbakır to give a brief about our activities.

As a member of UCLG-MEWA, Southeast Anatolia Association of Municipalities (GABB) held a meeting about “The Collaboration of Local Governments in the Process of Building Peace”, in cooperation with the municipalities of Diyarbakır, Batman, Kayapınar, Bağlar, Yenişehir and Sur between 21-22 September 2013.  Our General Coordinator Dr. İhsan İkizer represented UCLG-MEWA in this conference. “Changing Society-Changing Claims: The Role, the Capacity and the Authority of the Local Governments in 21. Century”, “Country Experiences and the Process of Solution”, Local Governments on the Prevention of Regional Conflicts and Building the Peace” and “Local Governments as Alternative Organizations for National and International Justice, Social and Ecological Development” were argued in this conference. Too many foreign participants also participated in the meeting.  Dr. İhsan İkizer gave a brief about UCLG-MEWA in the closing part.
