RE-ELECTION OF UCLG’S LEADERS DURING LOCAL ELECTIONS 21.04.2014
The Secretary General of UCLG would like to congratulate the members of UCLG Presidency who have been re-elected for a new mandate in their cities.
The municipal elections which were held in Turkey and in France on 30 March resulted in the victory of various members of the Presidency of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG):
- Kadir Topbas, President of UCLG, was re-elected Mayor of Istanbul, Turkey
- Anne Hidalgo, Co-president of UCLG and Chair of the Standing Committee on Gender Equality, was elected Mayor of Paris, substituting Bertrand Delanoë
- Alain Juppé, Co-president of UCLG, was re-elected Mayor of Bordeaux, France
The World Secretariat would like to extend its warm congratulations and best wishes for their mandates to the members of the Presidency and to all its elected members.
We further take this opportunity to thank all representatives who have been active during the past mandates. UCLG´s achievements would not be possible without the men and women who dedicate their lives to public service all around the world.
