PROF. DR. ADEM ESEN WAS THE GUEST of 8th LOCAL GOVERNMENT TALKS 18.11.2014

Prof. Dr. Adem ESEN, Founding Rector of İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, made a speech on ‘’Governance on Metropolises’’ in headquarters of United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section in Sultanahmet, on 14 November 2014.

Prof. Dr. Adem ESEN highlighted the governance challenges of the metropolises in the conference which was organized within the scope of Local Government Talks. He also stated that governance that is based on the principle of reciprocity and participation is not hard to implement, and efficient solutions can be found by fulfilling the institutive gaps. Prof. Dr. ESEN gave practical examples of implementation of governance by including the attendants in the discussions and emphasized the importance of participation of individuals in order to spread governance in institutions. At the end of the conference with active participation, Mehmet DUMAN, Secretary General of UCLG-MEWA, presented a plaque to Prof. Dr. Adem ESEN.
