POLICY FORUM ON DEVELOPMENT 10.10.2014
Dr. Ihsan IKIZER, UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator, participated in the “Policy Forum on Development” organized in Brussels on 1-2 October 2014 by European Union General Directorate of Development and Cooperation, as the representative of local governments of the countries within the scope of UCLG-MEWA European Union Neighborhood Policy. Post-2015 Local Agenda, global partnership for a more effective development, urbanization, global development agenda, preparation of a suitable environment for the local governments and NGOs to be more effective in development policies were discussed in the 2 day-long forum. The participants were informed about the funding to be allocated within the scope of the program, called “Gloal Public Goods and Challenges”, for global development, during the next 6 years, which amounts to more than 6 billion Euro. Representatives from around 100 NGOs and local governments from all around the world participated in the forum.
