Palestinian delegation from Jenin Municipality paid an official visit to Secretariat General of UCLG-MEWA 10.04.2013

Within the framework of their partnership with Pendik Municipality (Istanbul/Turkey), a Palestinian delegation from Jenin Municipality was headed by Mayor of Jenin, Mr. Waleed M. Abu MWAIS, paid an official visit to Secretariat General of United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia in Istanbul, on 28^th of March 2013.

The delegation consisted of Mr. Waleed M. Abu MWAIS, Mayor of Jenin, Mr. Sameer ALSOQI and Issam ALAWNA, Members of the Municipal Council of Jenin. Ms. Sibel YANIK and Mr. Abdulkadir BOZDEMIR from the international relations of Pendik Municipality accompanied them during their visit.

During the visit, Mr. Waleed M. Abu MWAIS, Mayor of Jenin expressed Jenin Municipality desire to be an active member of UCLG-MEWA and he presented his gratitude to the Secretary General for his kind welcoming and hospitality.

Secretary General Mr. DUMAN noted that “UCLG-MEWA aims to embrace and strengthen all local and regional authorities under its roof; we would be pleased and honored to have the Jenin Municipality among our members from the MEWA region, along with a number of other members from Palestine.”
