Lokman ÇAĞIRICI
Lokman Çağırıcı
who was born in Bulancak, Giresun in 1965, started residing in Bağcılar district, Mahmutbey Neighborhood in 1978. He was graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Industrial Engineering. He served as top executive in various institutions and was engaged in trade for many years until 1999. Çağırıcı, whose political life has begun in 1990, in parallel with his works in the private sector, was elected member of the Bağcılar Municipal Assembly.
Çağırıcı, who served as the Municipal Assembly Member and Vice Mayor until 11 May 2007, was elected as the Mayor of Bağcılar, by the Bağcılar Municipal Assembly, when Mr. Feyzullah Kıyıklık, founding Mayor of Bağcılar resigned from his post, to run in the general elections to become an AK Party MP, on 11 May 2014. After his successful tenure that lasted for 2 years, hee stood as a candidate to be the Mayor of Bağcılar once again, in the 29 March 2009 local elections, and was elected as the mayor of Bağcılar, with the support of 50% of the voters.
Apart from his position as the Mayor of Bağclar, he holds the positions, such as; President of Union of Bağcılar Amateur Sports Clubs, Deputy President of Union of Marmara Municipalities, Member of the Board of Directors of World Academy for Local Governments and Democracy (WALD) and Treasurer of United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA).
Çağırıcı is married with four children.
