Libyan National Economic Development Board Visits UCLG-MEWA 11.03.2014

Mr. Medhat Elghdamsi, Libyan National Economic Development Board, Director of Economic Policies Department, under the Libyan Prime Ministry, met Mr. Mehmet DUMAN, UCLG-MEWA Secretary General, at its Secretariat General, on 10^th of March, 2014.  In the meeting, Mr. Elghdamsi stated that local authorities in Libya required structural reforms to operate healthily, and that they would like to receive the support of UCLG-MEWA member local authorities in this regard. Furthermore, Mr. Elghdamsi added that he will put effort to make local authorities in Libya to become members of UCLG-MEWA. Mr. Duman, on the other hand, expressed his pleasure for the visit and that UCLG-MEWA was ready to contribute in the establishment of the local governance system in Libya.
