LIBYAN MAYORS VISITED UCLG-MEWA 26.12.2014

A delegation composed of Yusuf Khalifa BUDAEIRI, Mayor of Garyan, Hisham al-Hashemi Bin YUSUF, Mayor of Souk El Cuma, and Hatem Mustafa EZWAGHI, Mayor of Sabrata and Mustafa TARHUNI Director of AYBİL, a Libyan-based company, and Fethiye SABİT, Executive Assistant of AYBIL visited UCLG-MEWA Secretariat General.

At the meeting Dr. İhsan İKİZER, General Coordinator of UCLG-MEWA, introduced UCLG-MEWA and its activities to the delegation. Mayors gave information about their own municipalities and Libyan municipalities in general. Moreover, challenges and solutions that the Libyan municipalities face were discussed. Libyan delegation proposed organizing a conference led by UCLG-MEWA that can bring all Libyan municipalities together. At the end of the meeting a set of UCLG-MEWA publications were presented to the delegation and a plaque was given to be presented to Ministry of Libyan Local Governments.
