INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE: LOCAL AUTHORITIES AT THE HEART OF THE STATE OF PALESTINE 27.10.2014

As UCLG-MEWA, we would be pleased to forward you the invitation letter from Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) for the meeting of “International Conference of Local Authorities in Solidarity with the Palestinian People: Local Authorities at the Heart of the State of Palestine” on 21th-23th of November 2014.

Palestinian people who have suffered the devastating impacts of fundamental injustices, witnessed by the world, particularly in Gaza.  2014 is also the UN International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (IYSPP).

IYSPP2014 is honored to invite you to participate in the “International Conference of Local Authorities in Solidarity with the Palestinian People: Local Authorities at the Heart of the State of Palestine”. This important event will take place between 21-23 November 2014, in Ramallah, Palestine, and will be attended by international political figures, Members of Parliament, Mayors, Heads of Municipal Associations and Unions, Academics and Civil Society representatives amongst others.

The conference is being organized under the auspices of the UN International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The overall aim is mobilizing global actions towards the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting solution for Palestine in accordance with international law and the relevant resolutions of the United Nations. There will be a particular focus on the role of Local Authorities in this process, which has been organized through the collaborative effort of the Ministry of Local Government and in cooperation with the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities.
