Conflict in Syria: Watan Organization's representatives paid a visit to Secretariat General of UCLG-MEWA 2.05.2013

Representatives of a non-profit organization, working for the future of Syria, paid a visit to the Secretary General of UCLG-MEWA, Mr. Mehmet DUMAN on 2^nd of May 2013. Watan Organization aims to develop individuals and society through a group of civil society institutions run by specialized personnel.

After many exchanges and respective presentations of both organizations, Mr. DUMAN highlighted the need to make a partnership with Watan Organization to prepare the future Syria for municipal activities, by means of strengthening the local competences with help of professionals.

Likewise, Yaser Sayyed OMAR, Watan Chief Operating Officer in Istanbul, stressed the need of partners to fund projects, trainings and for logistic support in many fields all around the world and even inside Syria. Within the framework of a new partnership with UCLG-MEWA, Mr. OMAR added also that Watan will participate to the activities of local authorities in order to be ready to work in this field in the future Syria.
