BÜYÜKÇEKMECE MUNICIPALITY HAS BEEN AWARDED THE TITLE OF ‘‘EUROPEAN 12 STAR CITY’’ ONCE AGAIN 3.03.2015

Büyükçekmece Municipality has been awarded the title of ‘’European 12 Star City’’ successively 3 years by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. Dr. Hasan Akgün, Mayor of Büyükçekmece who participated in the award ceremony in Paris, received the certificate of the title ‘’European 12 Star City’’ from Gaye Doğanoğlu, Vice President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, representing Jean Claude Frecon,  President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. In the award ceremony Denis Huber, President of Foreign Relations Management and Cooperation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, was among the first ones who celebrated the Mayor Akgün.

Büyükçekmece Municipality, which provides social and cultural projects that it implenets for local participatory democracy at the national and international arena, as well as city planning and aesthetic, has attracted attention with its 15 minute-long presentation that was made in the meeting, where 74 institution and organization attended from 24 countries.
