ASSOC PROF. YEŞEREN ELİÇİN ARIKAN WAS THE GUEST OF UCLG-MEWA MEETING ON “DECENTRALIZATION, SOCIAL CAPITAL AND DEMOCRACY” 15.04.2014

Assoc. Prof. Yeşeren ELİÇİN ARIKAN, lecturer at Galatasaray University, Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Sciences, delivered a talk on  “Decentralization, Social Capital and Democracy”   at the UCLG-MEWA Headquarters in Sultanahmet, Istanbul.  Ms. Yeşeren ELİÇİN ARIKAN, who stressed the democratic participation of civil society in the governance of cities, made a reference to the Fatsa experience in 1979. The talk was concluded with presentation of plate and treats.

The next meeting of UCLG-MEWA will be on 17^th of April, 2014, between 15:00-16:30, in which Assoc. Prof. Yüksel Demirkaya, lecturer at Marmara University will deliver a talk on “Governance, Civil Society and Local Authorities”.
