ARCHITECT DR. SİNAN GENİM WAS THE GUEST OF UCLG-MEWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT TALKS 22.04.2015

Architect Dr. Sinan Genim participated as the speaker in the UCLG-MEWA Local Government Talks that are organized every month at the headquarters of UCLG-MEWA in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, Turkey. In the event titled ‘’Local Governments and Architecture’’ Sinan Genim talked about the settlement in Istanbul starting from prehistoric period based on the archeological findings in Yarımburgaz Cave and Yenikapı excavations. Displaying the shaping of the city planning of Istanbul in different periods with visual materials, Sinan Genim revealed how the image of the city has been tainted in recent years. Mr. Genim mentioned the reason of this problem lies under the lack of knowledge of Istanbul’s topography, but he also stated that these problems in many different areas can still be solved.  The program was concluded after the presentation of the plaque and with a refreshment reception.
