4th Edition of the Decentralisation and Local Governance Online Course

CIRCULAR 24

The Decentralisation and Local Self-Government Committee of the United Cities and Local Governments offers the 4th edition of the online course on Decentralisation and Local Governance.

The course will be held from September 25th to December 20th 2013. This online training is mainly directed at technical experts and local, regional and central government officials. Its main goals are to improve the level of training and technical ability of technical experts and government workers and, in general, of the public government agencies that fall into the categories studied by the course, to develop a debate on decentralisation and local democratic governance and to strengthen decentralisation and local self-government processes all over the world.

The training has two parallel versions: the Decentralisation and Local Governance in Latin America online course, in Spanish, and the Decentralisation and Local Governance general online course, in English. Both courses are distance-learning programme lasting a total of 80 hours and taught through Internet. The online teaching method used by the course allows interaction between the participants and the teaching staff via a virtual platform created especially for that purpose.

The course is sponsored by the Barcelona Provincial Council as chair of Decentralisation and Local Self-Government Committee. There are 20 places available for each version course. In order to subscribe to the course, the next documentation you must be sent to the Committee Secretariat email before 6 September 2013: dal.cglu@diba.cat.
